2018 Ford Mustang Review

Sports car enthusiasts near Maitland, Orlando, and Winter Park have plenty to get excited about with the 2018 Ford Mustang! The latest iteration of this flashy ride brings a mid-cycle exterior refresh and engine updates to the table, and we at Peacock Ford are here to give you the lowdown.

You can read about the Mustang's many impressive features in this car review. If you have any questions or want to learn more, just reach out to our friendly team!

2018 Mustang: Modern Exterior Features

The last time the Mustang was fully redesigned, the emphasis was on returning to its retro roots. But, the current generation puts all its eggs into a more modern design with European flair, and the 2018 Mustang is the culmination of that effort.

The exterior now has a sharper, more angular appearance. The leading edge of the hood has been lowered by roughly 20 millimeters to add some aggression to the face, which is complemented by the sharp new LED headlamps (taillamps, too!).

There are also some exciting new paint colors this year. Deep Royal Crimson gives the Mustang restrained passion, while bright Orange Fury bestows it with a race-ready look. Meanwhile, calm Kona Blue somehow makes this pony car feel more relaxed-perfect for a laid-back cruise along the Florida coast!

Some Powerful Engine Performance Specs

The V6 engine in last year's Ford Mustang has been discontinued this year, making the 2.3-liter EcoBoost®4-cylinder the new base engine. With 310 horsepower, it'll move this car with ease. It's the most efficient engine, too, with an EPA-estimated 21 city and 31 highway MPG for the Fastback (hard-top) version.

For top-of-the-line acceleration, there's a 460-horsepower V8 in the Mustang GT-and even more power in the Shelby GT350 trims. And with five selectable drive modes-Normal, Wet, Sport, Track, and (new for this year) Drag Strip-you can custom-set the exact driving experience you're looking for.

Fastback & Convertible Interior Dimensions

The 2018 Mustang comes in two body styles: Fastback (coupe) and Convertible. The version you choose will have a slight effect on the amount of space available. The Fastback, for instance, offers 13.5 cubic feet of cargo volume in the trunk, while the Convertible gives you 11.4 cubic feet.

Either should give you plenty of room to store two or three sets of golf clubs or some duffel bags for your weekend trip. If you need to fit longer items, the Fastback's standard 50/50 split-folding rear seats give it an advantage.

Front-row headroom and legroom are unaffected by body style, but the Convertible has slightly more rear legroom and headroom than the Fastback. It's not a major difference, though, and with rear legroom near 29 inches in both models, the backseat should only seat adults on short trips-like double-date night out on the town!
